What is the role of the festivals of the performing arts and cultural institutions, understood as hubs of encouragement for creation and active agents for approximation and interaction between artists and segments of the public? This is the starting point for the roundtable that discusses the challenges of cultural action in Ibero-America facing restrictions of public support for culture, a situation worsened by the sanitary crisis arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The guest participants address these issues based on the perspectives of management of many different festivals: the International Theatre Festival of Iberian Expression (Porto, Portugal), the Manizales International Theatre Festival (Colombia), Mapas - Performing Arts Market of the South Atlantic (Spain), Glance (Mirada) – Ibero-American Festival of the Performing Arts (Brazil) and the Santiago a Mil International Festival (Chile).
