Few are the words in the Portuguese language that are as confusing as concerto (meaning concert) and conserto (meaning repair). In this presentation, an adaptation of the work Processo de Conscerto do Desejo to a more intimist format, the two words get significantly intermixed. With poesy, in a concert, Matheus Nachtergaele wants to repair his desire, which philosophy sees as the first characteristic of the imperfect and finite being. The actor is on stage reciting the poems that he kept as the only legacy of his mother – poet Maria Cecília Nachtergaele, who died when her son was only three months old.
Matheus Nachtergaele
Matheus is an acclaimed Brazilian actor and director, who has been intensely active in the theatre, in the film business and on television. He was part of the Grupo Teatro da Vertigem and has worked with famous directors such as Bruno Barreto, Walter Salles Jr, Guel Arraes, Fernando Meirelles, Claudio Assis and Anna Muylaert.
