Is dancing at home a privilege for how many? Is it resistance for how many? Who can stay in isolation? Fragmento Urbano group developed Espaço Seguro para Ficar em Risco based on questions like these, seeking to elaborate on the pressures to which people living in the outskirts of the city are subjected in the covid-19 pandemic.

The performance is an offshoot of Na Pressão and Balada Manifesto projects and uses transparent plastic bags as props. Douglas Iesus and Anelise Mayumi, dancers who star in the play, reflect on the so-called “new normal”, in which “the tonic of life is the paradox: breathing is the most important and the most dangerous thing”.

Fragmento Urbano
Created in 2009 in the east of São Paulo, the group focuses on the investigation of a peripheral, Afro Diasporic, Amerindian corporeality, aggregating young people who wanted to create using the language of funk styles (hip-hop) for urban intervention. They have held, inter alia, Breaking de Repente and Duoelo.
