The singularities of the modes of artistic expression of the native peoples in Latin America constitute the center of a debate between the philosopher and indigenous leader Ailton Krenak, the playwright, director, and researcher Paula González Seguel, of Mapuche origin and Andreia Duarte, co-curator and creator of TePI Platform. They talk about the material and symbolic wealth of peoples, expressed in their rites and technologies. They also bring to this debate very urgent issues: human rights violations, the fight for land, environmental devastation – and their unfolding in performing arts;


The play Trewa, Estado-Nación o el Espectro de la Traición (Trewa, Nation-State or The Specter of Treason),  directed by Paula González Seguel with the KIMVN Teatro company is part of Ocupação Mirada 2021 program.


Ailton Krenak
Philosopher and writer, he is one of the foremost political leaders and contemporary intellectuals playing a fundamental role in fighting indigenous rights and initiatives like the Union of Indigenous Nations and the Alliance for the Peoples of the Forest. He is co-curator of the TePI platform – Theatre and Indigenous Peoples.


Paula González Seguel
Director, playwright, professor, documentary filmmaker, and cultural manager, she is the founder and director of the company KIMVN Teatro, devoted to rescuing the memory, orality, language, world vision, and culture of the Mapuche people.


Andreia Duarte
Actress, curator, and art director, she researches the intersection between the theatre and indigenous peoples, a space where life is reinvented. Art director of the production company Outra Margem that focuses on curatorship and art productions, like the digital TePip platform – Theatre and Indigenous Peoples.
