Award-winning playwrights and directors meet to discuss their most recent work, which is part of the programme of the Mirada (Glance) Occupation 2021 –Reconciliation Trauma, by Alexandre Dal Farra and Patricia Portela; La Segunda Vida de un Dragón, (The Second Life of a Dragon), an audio-visual work by Guillermo Calderón; the performance Sem Palavras (No Words) and the documentary Travessias (Crossings), by the Brazilian theatre company and directed by Márcio Abreu.


Just like the themes they address, their work's creative processes are strongly associated with current political and social stresses and had to be reviewed and reinvented in the context of the Covid-19 pandemics that required new ways of making art.


Alexandre Dal Farra
Director, playwright, and writer. He worked with Brazilian and foreign groups and directors. With the Tablado de Arruar he wrote and co-directed the "Trilogy of Abnegation" regarding the place of political thinking and Brazilian leftist thought in our days.


Guillermo Calderón
The Chilean playwright, screen writer and director is devoted to political and resistance plays, with a special interest in Latin American dictatorships. He is the author of Escuela and Mateluna, among other plays.


Marcio Abreu
Director, and playwright, his work has been focused on research and creative processes with artists in Brazil and other countries. He is the founder and director of companhia brasileira de teatro, staged PROJETO bRasil and Preto, and many other plays.


Patrícia Portela
The writer, playwright, and performances author spends her days between Portugal and Belgium. She is the artistic director of Teatro Viriato in Viseu (Portugal) and has written the novels Dias Úteis and Hífen.


Emerson Pirola
Emerson is a graduate in social communication, from the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (ECA/USP), with an MBA in Strategic Project Management from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV/SP). Since 2005, Emerson has been working at SESC in São Paulo in different cultural programming areas. Since the first edition, he has participated in the curatorship and coordination of Glance (Mirada) – the Ibero-American Festival of the Performing Arts. Nowadays, he is part of the Management for Cultural Action.
